Call for papers: Rome Conference, October 19-20, 2015

Dear Colleagues and Friends of the Hermann-Cohen-Gesellschaft,

we are pleased to announce that a conference on «Critical Idealism and Messianism. From Hermann Cohen to Walter Benjamin and beyond» is planned to take place in Rome, Italy, October 19-20, 2015. The conference will be organized by the University of Roma Tre (Tamara Tagliacozzo), the University of Turin (Andrea Poma) and the Hermann-Cohen-Gesellschaft (Reinier Munk, Irene Abigail Piccinini).

Besides a few keynote speakers, to be announced shortly, we will welcome 6-8 further presentations. Early career scholars, in particular PhD students and post-doc researchers, are especially encouraged to submit their proposals, but we welcome all contributions.
Papers can be presented in English, and German.
Proposals (title and extended abstract of approx. 500 words) should be sent before May 31st, 2015 to the following email address: cfp@hermann-cohen-gesellschaft.org
Subject: Rome 2015
Please mention your name and affiliation, and include a short biographical statement.
The talks should not exceed 20 minutes to leave room for discussion.
You can expect a reply by June 15, 2015.
Please notice that financial support for the conference is still being sought. However, as these endeavors have not yet come to a conclusion at present, we emphasize that participants will have to cover their travel and accommodation expenses.
